FUSAAC is pleased to share with our members profile of our newly created Advisory Board. The Board provides strategic guidance on FUSAAC’s direction and long-term plans; helps broaden the support for FUSAAC within and outside of Cambodia; and encourages interactions and cooperation among FUSAAC members and volunteers.

Mr. You Sokunpanha

Mr. Sokunpanha is the current President of the Fulbright and Undergraduate State Alumni Association of Cambodia (FUSAAC). He completed his Bachelor of Science in Economics from Singapore Management University in 2008 under a Singapore scholarship. He received his Master of Public Policy at University of Michigan under Fulbright Student Fellowship program in 2013. He is currently working as the Head of Strategy and Business Development of Smart Axiata.


Dr. Nguon Pheakkdey

Dr. Pheakkdey received his Master of International Development and Environmental Analysis from Monash University, Australia in 2009. He received his PhD in Geography from Clark University in 2016. He currently works an as environmental consultant for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the World Bank.


Mr. Sopha Ratana

Mr. Ratana is a former President of the Fulbright and Undergraduate State Alumni Association of Cambodia (FUSAAC). Under the Fulbright scholarship, he pursued his Master of Environmental Science and Policy from Clark University in 2011. He works as Manager of HIVS Prevention and Innovation at KHANA Organization.


Dr. Roth Hok

Dr. Hok is currently serving as Deputy Director of the Institute of Foreign Languages, Royal University of Phnom Penh. He received his Master of Applied Linguistics from Macquarie University in 1998 and a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration from Mississippi State University in 2016.


Dr. Theam Rottanak

Dr. Rottanak served as FUSAAC President from 2009 to 2012. He is the longest-serving President of the Association. He got his Master of Management from University of Akron in 2004 under the Fulbright program. Moreover, Dr. Rottanak received a doctoral degree in Public Management from University of Sydney in 2017. He is the Deputy Director of the Institute of Electrical Science (IES), Electricite du Cambodge (EDC). He is also a senior lecturer at Institute of Foreign Languages (IFL). He teaches English for International Business, writing skills and English for Work Skills.


Ms. Huot Siekhouy

Ms. Siekhouy is a senior member of FUSAAC. She has served for many years as project leaders and coordinators in some of the Association’s most successful projects. She joined the Study of the United States Institution (SUSI) program in 2010 under the theme of environment and leadership. She graduated from the Institute of Foreign Languages, Royal University of Phnom Penh in 2014 and received a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies. Ms. Siekhoy currently works as Business Development Manager at Raintree Development.


Mr. Chea Kagnarith

Mr. Kagnarith has more than 10 years of experience in education-related field. He is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Edemy, an educational initiative that aims to bring quality and integral English education funded through FUSAAC. He received his Master of Arts in English Teaching from Arizona State University in 2010. Mr. Kagnarith served as FUSAAC President from 2014 to 2015.


Mr. Borei Sylyvann

Mr. Sylyvann currently works as Associate Communication Manager at Chip Mong Group. He went to Ohio University under the Fulbright Program in 2010 and graduated with his Master of Arts in Communication and Development Studies in 2012. Sylyvann also received a Bachelor of Arts in Media Management from the Department of Media and Communication in 2006.  He has seven-year experiences working in communication and development sector in both local and international institution. On top of his expertise in communication and development, he also works on issues such as education, youth development and environment.


Ms. Dek Dary

Ms. Dary Dek is currently Director of 360 Events and board member of start-up companies in retails and trading. She has a Bachelor Degree of Teaching English as a Foreign Language, and in Media Management from Royal University of Phnom Penh. From 2005 to 2007, she was a Lecturer at Royal University of Phnom Penh lecturing in Marketing and Advertising class. She earned her Master Degree of Global Marketing Communications and Advertising, Emerson College, in Massachusetts, USA. She completed her Master Degree’s research internship at McKinsey & Company based in Singapore. From 2009 to 2012, she was a Research Associate at Frontier Investment and Development Fund focusing on investment opportunities in Cambodia. She became Brand Manager at Cambodia’s leading digital company, Sabay Digital, where she helped in marketing, advertising and PR of online products and and entertainment service.


Dr. Pak Kimchoeun

Dr. Kimchoeun is the Founder and Executive Director of Governance Research Organization (GRO). Under the Fulbright program, he pursued his Master of Public Administration at Syracuse University, New York, the United States, in 2002. He did his PhD in Public Policy at the Australian National University from 2007 to 2010. He had worked as a researcher at the Cambodia Development Resource Institute (CDRI) from 2002 to 2007 and as a freelance consultant from 2007 till now.
Mr. Chim Guanghui

Mr. Guanghui is currently working as Chief Sales Office at Amret Microfinance. He graduated his Master of Arts in East Asian Languages and Culture in 1997 via the Fulbright Student Fellowship program. Mr. Guanghui has extensive experience in banking sector. He used to work as Service Quality and Senior Operation Manager at ANZ Royal Bank from 2008 to 2010. He speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese.


Mr. Bong Chansambath

Mr. Chansambath is the current Secretary-General of FUSAAC. Prior to this position, he worked as a political writer at Politikoffee from 2015 to June 2017. He covered topics concerning international politics, security issues and Cambodian affairs. In addition, he used to work as a national intern at Nuon Chea Defence Counsel, the Khmer Rouge Tribunal in early 2017. Mr. Sambath recently finished his Bachelor of Arts in International Relations at Pannasastra University of Cambodia. He was the winner of the Model Prime Ministerial Debate 2016.
